Living on the Central Coast boasts many benefits. One of the best benefits is that it’s a short, beautiful road trip to Big Sur, CA. If you’ve ever been to Big Sur, coming from the North or the South, you know the drive is part of the journey and some of the best finds are stopping for photo ops or beach explorations.

When we left for Big Sur last Friday for Valentine’s weekend, it was almost 80 degrees. I put on this dress from Free People knowing it would be cool enough in the heat, comfy enough for the car ride with sandals yet versatile enough for booties and a jacket (which did come in handy when the ocean breezes built up).
